The Surroundings
The campsite is close to the Canal du Midi, which is listed as a World Heritage site by Unesco, and 700 metres from the centre of the village of Colombiers.
In Colombiers, you will discover
The village with its shops, its Romanesque Church, and the little port where you can take trips on the Canal du Midi. Along the Canal du Midi, the towpath is ideal for walks or bike rides.
Nearby, the Oppidum d’Ensérune
(a Roman citadel) is a site to visit, but also an archaeological museum from the period of the Gauls in Languedoc. Close to it, there is a vantage point from which you can see the Montady Lakes, which are dried up nowadays.
At Béziers
The birthplace of Pierre Paul Riquet, creator of the Canal du Midi, you can admire the area of the Nine Locks, not forgetting the famous Béziers Féria (or festival) which takes place in August.
And the sea?
The Campsite is a few kilometres from Valras beach, Vendres beach (the nearest) and Cap d’Agde is twenty minutes or so away.
